Bob Burton has two decades of experience in investor relations and corporate communications, following eight years as a practicing journalist.
Since 1983, he has headed investor relations departments at five NYSE-listed companies with market capitalizations from $600 million to over $100 billion. His industry experience includes a focus in retailing (hardlines, general merchandise, apparel, and optical) as well as manufacturing, insurance, defense, energy, housing, telecommunications and fiber optics businesses.
He has direct experience in managing investor relations activities with regard to major corporate challenges such as repositioning corporate strategy, acquisition and divestiture, balance sheet recapitalization, shareholder proxy fights, and hostile tender offers. He is experienced in managing relationships with analysts, shareholders, bondholders, creditors, customers, proxy solicitors, the NYSE and the financial media.
